Pro puppet - for a parent and toddler group Adventure Ben

Adventure Ben Pro puppet - was a challenge!!!!

The customer needed a puppet for their new business - parent and toddler group.
They had an image of Adventure Ben and the brief was very clear - we would like a puppet that is a very close resemblance.
Well it is a difficult task to work from someone else's designs .Then to be even more complicated they already had one Ben made by other puppet maker that they did not liked... so no pressure at all !!!!!

For the puppet style : I suggested non mouth operated puppet and I was very happy that the customer agreed.
So the puppet actually could be controled as a hand puppet

So to make shoes and hoodie as on the picture of the character was my second task in terms of creating such a resemblance

I was so happy that the customer liked the finished puppet Ben , they just had some opinion on his wild hair but this was easily resolved with some styling
like on the picture bellow .
I thought that a wild hair style will support the main concept of an adventures boy but with his hair combed he looks cute

It took a while to make this set "Little Red Riding Hood -Story bag Set of 5 pieces" ordered from our local primary school as Teaching resource

Well, the WOLF was a bit too hard,for me to make but once done the rest of the characters were very easy the combination of hand and finger puppets make the set very functional

Cool as a cucumber - custom made pro puppet

Baa, Baa Black sheep

Finally I made a sheep puppet!!!! since I started to create the "Nursery rhymes in a bag" Puppets
I wanted to have ba a ,baa Black sheep set. It is one of the very popular nursery rhymes and my son's favourite as well,
was in my list but I really straggled with the design development
and 2 days ago out of nowhere I just made the sheep YES!!!! 2 designs

and then I wander which of these 2 it s more like a BLACK SHEEP

black head or white head????

I am happy with both designs but most friends suggested the black head so she is going to be in the completed set

now I am making 3 bags full

and the result is a lovely bright green mat with 1,2,3 bags FULL and a pond full of frogs (they weren't in the song ) but I loved the fabric

Very Friendly Monster -Puppet with rods

This Puppet will be the centre point of a new toddler group,
the brief for this custom order was very short:
A VERY FRIENDLY Monster
Preferable colour combinations ??? - orange and green
So this is the agreed sketch:

I love to make Custom orders, actually this is what I want to do,
But it is so difficult to visualise an image that the customer already had in their mind ,so I am very happy that my customer loves the result and hope it will work well

Cow Hand Puppet-sewing pattern

The Cow is the second animal from my Project "Old McDonald Farm" Sewing pattern so I am half way trough

The idea was to create a pattern for a cute but very easy to make Little cow , for beginners level, just using hand stitching , and I am happy with the outcome

I wondered a bit about the balance between the black and white so white body with black patches or black body with white patches??? but then the first option appeared to be better

Twinkle twinkle Little star –How to make Star Hand Puppet ,Sewing pattern

Twinkle twinkle little star 

How I wonder what you are.
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.....

is one of the Very favorite nursery rhymes ,
will be great if is acted out with a little star puppet.... so  I started to create the template and the instructions for This simple ,fun project

If you want to do a Star hand puppet will take approximately 2 hours to make and just Basic sewing skills and HAND stitching are required

What you need...
Felt in Yellow ( 3 x A4 Felt Sheets 1mm thick) and little bits of orange, red, black and white
Tread: cotton perle tread and machine tread In yellow, red ,orange and black
Polifiller (for stuffing)
Needles Fabric scissors

Felt Finger puppets -my new inspiration

FELT is my new inspiration but the 100 % wool one , never liked this material until I fall in love
3 days ago we went to the open day of Blooming felt with a friend and I came home very excited with pretty pink bag full of felt



so my first Idea was fairy Tale Finger Puppets in a bag and because the prettiest bag was Pink
then I chose more girly story Goldilocks and The 3 Bears



A great way to have fun with kids of all ages, Great travel fun Set of 4 finger puppets and carrying Bag Includes Goldilocks and three bears. Based on the Goldilocks fairy tale Children will love bringing the story to life
